As someone who cherishes supporting Black designers and is continually inspired by the vibrant fashion emerging from Africa, I was thrilled to discover Kílẹ̀ńtár’s online sample sale. I couldn’t resist adding these stunning pieces to my collection:

• Aladun Backless Maxi Dress: This dress exudes elegance with its flowing silhouette and daring backless design, perfect for warm summer evenings.

• Layo Fringe Split Maxi Dress: A captivating piece featuring a thigh-high split adorned with fringe detailing, combining sophistication with a playful edge.

• Suku Fringe Braided Maxi Dress: This dress showcases intricate braiding and fringe elements, reflecting the meticulous craftsmanship synonymous with Kílẹ̀ńtár.
Kílẹ̀ńtár, founded by Michelle Adepoju, is a brand deeply rooted in African heritage, seamlessly blending traditional aesthetics with contemporary fashion. The label is renowned for its commitment to sustainability, utilizing materials like vintage handwoven cotton and natural dyes. Each garment is a testament to the skilled artisans across West Africa, preserving indigenous techniques and promoting artisanal excellence.
I’m eagerly anticipating wearing these dresses throughout the summer and to special events, as they embody both style and cultural significance. Additionally, my admiration extends to other remarkable designers like Diotima. Founded by Rachel Scott, Diotima is a womenswear label that intertwines Jamaican craftsmanship with modern design, offering pieces that are both sensuous and powerful.
Supporting Black designers not only enriches my wardrobe but also contributes to a more diverse and inclusive fashion industry. I’m excited to see how these pieces from Kílẹ̀ńtár and, hopefully soon, from Diotima, will add a unique flair to my style this season.
